What does it mean to grow up and realize that there is this pre-determined notion of how you will be looked at in society? Where is that distinction between being a little girl and this new “grown” version of oneself that be objectified due to societal norms? Who gets to decide when that happens and why is this the norm? This piece explores the idea of how the sigma of “nude” vs. “naked” is perceived as a result of growing up in a society that sets the norms of sexualization.
